Beef Casseroles

Beef casseroles are extremely easy to make for several reasons. One of the reasons is because beef is very common to find at any grocery store. The second reason they are truly easy to make is that there's so many different cuts and versions of beef to experiment with when creating a dish. There are beef roast to use, slices of beef, ground beef, and meatballs, which are usually made out of ground beef and other ingredients.

One example for beef casseroles is called a shepherd's pie. A traditional shepherd's pie employs the use of beef with the beef brown gravy, a variety of garden vegetables, and mashed potatoes. However, as people experiment around with different ways to make this dish, they have created recipes that call for ground beef instead of stew beef to use in the recipe. They experiment with different types of vegetables. They have decided to add shredded cheddar cheese to the top of the mashed potatoes before putting the dish in the oven. No matter how they vary this dish, it's a traditional comfort food, and it's very simple and inexpensive to make.

Beef potpie on the other hand follows a basic recipe. It involves beef stew meat that also uses a brown gravy. This recipe also uses traditional vegetables such as carrots, celery, and peas. However, this is topped with a piecrust instead of mashed potatoes. The top of the type of piecrust can vary from cook to cook. Some cooks like to use a traditional piecrust. Some people like to use a flaky pastry crust. Still, some people like to take the piecrust, folded it in half, and stuff it with the ingredients, then set it on a baking dish to cook.

One of the best things about beef casseroles is that a person can use leftovers to create them. This saves them a trip to the store. For example, if they have a leftover roast, there is no reason they can't cut up the pieces of leftover roast to create a nice dinner casserole. In this way, they are using the beef in an economical way to create at least two, possibly three very different dinner ideas that can last throughout the week.

One more way to whip up a casserole dish that is both inexpensive and tasty is to make roasted beef stuffed peppers. Traditionally, this recipe uses ground beef with rice. The mixture is stuffed inside of a hollowed out green pepper. It is then usually covered with a tomato sauce, and baked. Again, each cook likes to add their own variation, and some cooks like to add breadcrumbs on top of the pepper mixture. Some could even like to use cheese. No matter what variations they like to use, like the other variation, they all come out delicious.
