MACARONI AND CHEESE

Macaroni and cheese casserole is one of the most beloved and favorte caserole. Creamy and cheesy loved by child and adult alike. This casserole is easy to prepare. Serves 4

INGREDIENTS

5 tbsp butter

3 tbsp onion (finey chopped)

1 clove garlic (finely chopped)

3 tbsp flour (all purpose)

3 1/2 cups milk

16 oz cheese (white cheddar)

2 tbsp mustard

3/4 tbsp salt

1 lb small shape macaroni

4 oz bread crumbs (dry)

DIRECTIONS

1. Preheat oven to 400f and butter a 2 quart casserole pan with 2 tbsp of butter

2. Melt 3 tbsp of butter on medium heat in a sauce pan. Add onion and garlic and while stirring cook for about 3 minutes. Add flour cook while stirring this will make a roux used to thicken the casserole remove from heat.

3. Add milk return to low heat simmer and stir until smooth about 15 minutes. Add cheese a handful at a time while stirring until melted. Add mustard and salt and stir until blended.

4. Meanwhile cook macaroni (follow directions on package). Cook until half-cooked drain and place in large bowl. Add cheese mixture toss and transfer to buttered casserole dish sprinkle with bread crumbs. Bake for 25 minutes until golden brown and bubby let rest for 10 minutes and serve.
