Stuffed Shells Recipe

Stuffed shells recipe creates an amazing dish that is made with fresh ricotta and mozzarella cheeses. What is great about this casserole is that you can use it as either a side dish or the entrée as well. You can find the spaghetti sauce recipe on the sauce site. Parmesan cheese, mozzarella cheese, and ricotta cheese are not the only ingredients that make this one delicious meal. One thing you have to remember when you are creating this wonderful stuffed shells recipe is that it uses spinach in an amazing way. Who would not like adding spinach to the other great ingredients for this pasta dish?

All you have to do to prepare this recipe is to grab a couple of packages of frozen spinach and thaw them out. It's really that simple. Of course, if you would like you could use fresh spinach and wilt it down a bit before filling the shells. The recipe for spaghetti sauce can be found on this site and you can prepare it ahead of time if you would like to make for a speedier preparation time.



INGREDIENTS

2 packages spinach (10 oz each frozen thawed chopped)

2 green onions (green parts finely chopped)

1 cup grated parmesan cheese

1 cup shedded mozzarella cheese

1 cup ricotta cheese

1 large egg (beaten)

1/4 tsp pepper

1/4 pound (about 18) jumbo pasta shells

3 cups spaghetti sauce

DIRECTIONS

1.Set oven to 350f.

2. Place thawed spinach in a collender and press ouy moisture with spoon.

3. Using a large bowl combine together onions, 1/2 cup parmesan, mozzarella and ricotta cheeses, egg, pepper, and spinach.

4. Cook pasta shells according to box until firm to the bite and drain.

5. Place 1 cup of sauce on bottom of casserole pan. Stuff shells with mixture and place on top of sauce. cover with rest of sauce and rest of parmesan. Spray foil with cooking spray and cover shells.

6. bake for 20 minutes and remove foil and bake for another 10-15 minutes until sauce is bubbly.
